Plans belong to the project, so every meeting on the project uses the same drawings. Each pin is a numbered callout on a plan. It can be a snag or defect, a note, an instruction or a question / RFI.
Import a plan
You can start from the project (R3 Plans & snags → Import plan) or from a meeting (sheet 03 Plan & snags).
- Choose where the plan comes from:
- PDF or image from Files: a PDF drawing, or a PNG, JPEG or HEIC image
- Image from Photos (iPhone and iPad)
- Photograph a paper plan (iPhone and iPad)
- Type a Plan name, for example "Ground floor plan".
- If the PDF has more than one page, tap the page you want under Choose page. To use other pages, import the same PDF again and pick another page.
- Check the preview and tap Add plan to project.
Your original file is kept unchanged next to the plan. Plans are numbered like a drawing register: P01, P02 and so on.
A password-protected PDF cannot be imported. Save an unprotected copy and import that instead.
Add a pin
- Open a plan. Pinch or drag to zoom and move around. Double-tap to fit the plan to the screen.
- Tap Add pin. The banner shows the number the next pin will get, for example "ADD PIN 08".
- Tap the spot on the plan. Or aim the crosshair in the middle of the screen and tap Drop at crosshair, which is easier with gloves on.
- The pin editor opens straight away. Fill it in (see below) and tap Done.
- Keep tapping to add more pins. Tap Done on the banner when you have finished.
Pins are numbered automatically per plan. A pin added during a meeting remembers that meeting as the one it was raised in.
The pin editor
| Section | What to enter |
|---|---|
| 01 Description | What is wrong or what is needed, plus detail, location or dimensions |
| 02 Category | Snag / defect, Note, Instruction or Question / RFI |
| 03 Responsible | The company or party. Names from the attendance and People register are suggested as you type |
| 04 Status | Open, Ongoing or Closed. The date it was closed is recorded |
| 05 Photos | Take photo, or Attach photos already taken in a meeting |
| 06 Location | The grid reference, such as C4, and Move pin on plan |
Grid references work like a drawing grid. The long side of the plan is split into 10 bays. Columns are lettered (I and O are skipped) and rows are numbered.
To delete a pin, tap Delete pin… at the bottom of the editor and confirm. The pin leaves the plan and the snag register, but its photos stay in their meeting.
The snag register
The snag register lists every pin on every plan in the project. Open it from R3 Plans & snags, or tap Snag register at the top of a plan.
- Filter by Open, Closed or All. The number next to each filter shows how many pins it holds.
- Each row shows the pin number, its title, the plan and grid reference, who is responsible, the meeting it was raised in and its status.
- Tap a row to open the pin editor.
Carry-over from meeting to meeting
You do not copy snags forward. Because pins belong to the plan, an open snag stays on the plan and in the register at every following meeting until you set it to Closed. The 03 Plan & snags tile on each meeting shows how many are still open.
To hide finished items on a plan, turn off Show closed pins under Plan options (…).
Rename or delete a plan
In R3 Plans & snags, tap … on a plan card. Rename changes only the name, not the files or pins.
Delete plan… also deletes every pin on that plan and removes them from the snag register. Photos linked to those pins stay in their meetings, and the drawing files are moved to the SiteMinutes Trash folder, not erased.
