Every SiteMinutes account starts with a personal workspace. A practice that wants to share projects between colleagues uses a company account, billed per seat.
The iPhone and Mac apps currently keep projects on each device. Sharing projects through a company account arrives with sync in a future update. This guide explains how company accounts work, so you can plan ahead.
Personal workspace
- It is created automatically when you sign up, and you are its owner.
- It has one seat: yours.
- It stays yours, even if you later join a company account.
Company account
A company account is shared by the people in a practice.
- The person who creates it becomes its owner.
- A new company account starts on a trial with 3 seats.
- Projects, meetings and registers in a company account are visible to all its active members.
Roles
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything an admin can do, and make other people owners |
| Admin | Rename the company, invite people, change members' roles, suspend or remove members, see the company's support tickets and payments |
| Member | Work on the company's projects and raise support tickets |
A company always keeps at least one active owner. The last owner cannot leave or be demoted until someone else is made an owner, and only an owner can make someone an owner.
Invitations (coming with sync)
Invitations open together with company accounts. When they do:
- An owner or admin invites a colleague by e-mail address.
- The colleague signs in with that same e-mail address and accepts. An invitation cannot be used from a different address.
- Invitations expire after 14 days and can only be used once. If one expires, ask for a new one.
Seats
- Every active member uses one seat, including owners and admins.
- A company can never have more active members than seats. If all seats are taken, a new member cannot join until a seat is freed or more seats are added.
- Suspending or removing a member frees their seat.
- Seats and plans are changed by SiteMinutes when a payment or an agreement is confirmed, not in the app. See Billing.
Support tickets in a company
When you open a ticket and belong to more than one workspace, choose which one it is filed under. Owners and admins can see the tickets filed under their company, so the practice has one view of open questions. Members see only their own tickets.
Set up your practice
Company accounts cannot be created yet. They open together with sync, because until then there is nothing to share between colleagues. For now, each person uses the apps on their own devices and a personal web account for support tickets. You do not need to ask us for a company account in advance.
